Dr. R. Karthikeyan,B.E.,M.E.,PhD., Principal of General Programs, holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.E. in Thermal Power Engineering, and a PhD in the field of Alternative Fuels for Diesel Engines. With 33 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration within technical institutions, he is a seasoned academician and an Anna University Recognized Supervisor. His career is defined by a strong focus on curriculum design, institutional ranking, and accreditation. He has successfully headed and coordinated numerous employability training and skill development initiatives while fostering a culture of innovation through product development and entrepreneurial activities.

His research expertise lies in renewable energy and alternative fuels, specifically in biodiesel production, characterization, and application. He has extensive experience in conducting engine experiments using biodiesel, acetylene, neat vegetable oil, and plastic vapour, as well as in biomass gasification, biomethanation, and fuel testing. His technical portfolio includes the fabrication of mini electric vehicles and simple biomass gasifiers. To date, he has developed five products and holds four patents. His research impact is reflected in 890 citations, an H-index of 15, and an i10-index of 19. A Life Member of ISTE and a recipient of four prestigious awards, Dr. Karthikeyan combines deep analytical skills with a proven ability to solve complex technical and administrative problems.
